What is not common? ââ¬Å"The paradox of a marketing planning capabilityâ⬠The marketing planning capability is a skill to anticipate the shape of an uncertain future. It also is a skill to generate alternatives for operating effectively in changing environments. It is a skill to implement new plans rapidly and efficiently as well. The marketing plan content, marketing planning capability, incidence of improvisation from marketing plan and firm performance relative to competitors consists of the conceptual model. To know how marketing planning capability relates to plan content and the effect of the marketing plan, there are two dimensions: comprehensiveness and budgeting approach. The more comprehensive the plan, the credibility and utilization and the inertia in the organization will be higher. A comprehensive marketing plan covers a broad range of topics, in a thorough and exhaustive manner. A rational budget directs resource allocation on sound economic principles. Post plan improvisation is improvisation after implementation of the plan has commenced and the performance is defined as profitability and brand equity, which over 5 years. The post plan improvisation relates to the extent to an organization acts and approved marketing plan. Unlearning is the most important factors in post plan improvisation, however, it is difficult. Planning, implementing, evaluating and evolving improvising is the steps of post plan improvisation. Method and analysis is quite important in this reading as well. There are three types of measures were used in methods: reflective multi-item measures, formative multi-item measures, and single-item measures. ââ¬Å"Management process in marketing planningâ⬠Marketing planning decision making is used to pursue dynamic market opportunities and flexibility is quite important to the marketing planning. The authorââ¬â¢s models examine the ability to improvise and the flexibility of decision making is the key factor that directly influence ability to improvise which is consist of proactive management, innovative management, organizational learning, market orientation, spare resources and competitive aggression. On the other hand, there are some moderate relationships between these factors. Question 2 What concepts, methods, approaches or ideas in the set reading(s) do you think might be useful in Business and Marketing Planning? In what circumstances? Why? Due to the fast development, the organization not only needs opportunities but also needs to pursue the new opportunities. The traditional model has three inadequacies: managerial behavior, gap between theory and practice and coordinating role marketing planning. These inadequacies are not in favor of pursuing new opportunities. However, the modeling management processes can solve these problems. For instance, during the development of an organization, if the senior manager made some mistakes, the organization has to face trouble which can be seen as a managerial behavior inadequacy. However, in new model, it will not happen. There are six factors which are proactive management, innovative management, organizational learning, market orientation, spare resources and competitive aggression can directly influence the flexibility of decision making.

Sifting Liquid I am peeling off the liquid skin of a memory. Pulling crooked strings out of a silent field of dreams, sister keeps asking what she's missing in me. The sky was three shades of blue tonight, glass stars and frozen landscapes, caught in the pantomime of living. Time unfolds its battered wings and in that space I smile. Stealing blankets and the young girl fell. My first day home from the hospital, she only wanted to play, but reaching to tug, share a piece of my soft security, she tripped, cut her chin. The first blood of our tenuous intimacy. There was a safety scissors haircut (Mr. Rogers would have done it that way) and hours under chairs looking everywhere and up. Entranced by mobiles moving across distance, light, and eyes. In my crib, I would stand, arms reaching out for her, babbling. She, translating thoughts before lips knew how to form. My mother recalls a time early on when she woke in the middle of the night to noises down the hall. A four-year old and a three-year old at two in the morning, laughing. We had been building a bridge of cards from her bed to mine, so that we wouldn't fall in the water between us if we wanted to hold hands. The most unlikely of stories I never thought to question. Sister, less than a year old, lying on her mother's stomach. Head down, moving with the rhythm of familiar breath. One word. Baby. To discover, shortly after, for two months their silence had been shared. I remember the ways we used to pretend. In the water, we could have been dolphins, at home different versions of Barbie and Ken. Our Barbies lost countless heads perfecting dives off sofa's end and to think that's how I spent my years. Do I laugh or merely cry. When we played I think I was always the boy but I don't know if that changed the way I feel.

Background 2. 1 Performance Evaluation When networks are designed, the goal of the performance evaluation is that to determine the best effect of the equipment sed. Methods for performance evaluation are measurement techniques , analysis and simulation. [3] 2. 1. Measurement For measurement methods real networks are used for experimentation. The advantage of direct measurement of network performance is that no detail of network operation is excluded but experience hard to test performance limits. Customers wonââ¬â¢t like it when you crash the system. [3] 2. 1. 2 Analysis/ Simulation In comparing analysis and simulation, the main factors to consider are the accuracy of results, the time to produce results, and the overall cost of using the method. Advantage of analytical solutions is that they are quite good fit to reality and produces results quickly. However assumptions required to define equations and parameters and they can be very complex. Simulation provides system representation to required precision. However simulation can be time and cost demanding. [3] 2 Deniz Ozdemir ec09502 Interim report 2. 2 Packet Switched Networks In a packet switched network all nodes interconnected by directed links. Packets are routed independently. Packets enter the network at a specific node where they may be queued in a buffer to wait for an outgoing channel to become free. This continued in a hop by hop manner until the packets finally arrive at their destination. Packets may arrive the same destination by taking different routes. That increases efficiency of transmission resources. Also queued packets in the buffer will cause a variable delay and throughput, depending on traffic load. Basic network is shown in figure 1. [1] Figure 1: Packet Switched Network 3. Introduction Contention in a switch affects the performance of a switch. To prevent this some switching techniques are developed. One of the most common switching techniques is the one with output-buffered switch. In this report, queuing process of performance evaluation, for such a switch is done analytically first than simulation analysis is done using Matlab. In the end of the report comparison of two results is done. 4. Theory 4. 1 Queuing Theory Analysis of the queuing process is basic and essential part of the performance evaluation. Because queues are form in a network when there is a high demand on limited resources. 4. 1. 1 Queuing Model Packets arrive at a queuing system to be served for a certain time. If service is not immediately available they wait for service in a storage area (buffer). After a certain length of time, they are served and leave the system. Ever since the twenty-first century, the injury and menace posed by global climate change to human being has long been acknowledged by public. In the face of global warming, a series of resulting problems inflict a serious threat on the nature environment, which is the material base of the human being depending on. Therefore, climate change is no longer just a discipline problem but also has gradually become a major social problem, which has draw a common concern for us humans. During this, the resulting problems coming with the climate change has been transforming from oneness to diversification, from being known to being unknown. Various new phenomena lead to the change to human survival state. Most importantly, disaster in differentâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦On the contrary, it is generally agreed by the majority of scientists that human activities, especially since the industrial revolution in 1840s, including the production of factories, the consumption of customers, the usi ng of land among others, makes the most contribution to the global warming. The assessment report published by IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) in 2007 notes that the likelihood of the human activities to be the causes of the climate change is more than 90 %. The IPPC s reports on climate change highlight how human activities have affected global temperature in the past 50 years. There are the primary human activities that contribute to the climate change. One of many points is burning of fossil fuels results in a tremendous emission of green house gases in the atmosphere. Since the Industrial Revolution in 19th, the demand of fossil fuels increase sharply. Fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas supply most of the energy neediness for transportation, electricity generation and household heating. According to the IPCCââ¬â¢s reports, burning of fuels (world wide) produces around 21.3 billion tons (21.3 gigatons) of carbon dioxide every year. Though part of the carbon dioxide exited in the human life circle would be absorbed naturally, the remainder gets caught up in the atmosphere and contributes to global greenhouse gas warming.
